That's very sad, and it raises the question what NICE does. Assuming the
drug is 100% effective and without serious side effects, £10k pa falls
within the NICE price guidelines, so do you know why it's not sanctioned
for these two girls?

I read the below. It's in the news article.

"But Kay and Harriet have been told that if they had been diagnosed and
applied for funding before April 2016 they would have been granted treatment
for a drug called Anakinra, a daily injection which would ‘turn off’ their
faulty gene".

Possible if they had not white faces .........
Why did you snip the Queens socks?

There is something the article is missing.

Perhaps they have chips on their shoulders too?

No point in having snipped socks.

Possible if they had not white faces .........
That is most of it.

If they was a "refugee" no problem.

What's possible? You mean the NICE guidelines depend on race/colour?
What a quaint notion!

Why did you snip the Queens socks?
Because, even if the Queen went over to 50p socks for the rest of her
life, the saving would only pay for a day or two's treatment for these
girls.

It seemed a particularly silly argument, even for you. The lady is
richer than you. Try to get over it.

Because the drug is not recognised by NICE specifically for the treatment of
TRAPS - and not necessarily a cost issue.

If NICE pull their finger out and recognise it as a treatment for TRAPS - then
it would appear that it would be subscribed for them.

Okay, that makes sense.

And clearly NICE are being tardy because the Queen spends £17 on a pair
of socks. I hadn't realised the connection before Mr Pounder brought it
to our attention. All hail Mr Pounder!

When the rich spend, their money gets distributed to those who are
poorer. Isn't that to be encouraged?

My wife's stocking cost £65 each, the NHS pays for them.

You should know!

BTW they are fashionable again, and as it happens more comfortable.
