I wonder if he will ever regret trashing his reputation so
spectacularly? He's even made Gordon Brown look good.

I'm exaggerating, of course :-) But I'm sure those negative
'predictions' will have done some damage; and since I'm sure he didn't
really believe them, he was lying, too.

and lying he knew was a sin....

his part in the tory circus was to win elections....not to tend
to the economy beyond saving it from socialism and bankruptcy
the 'civil' 'servants' run the accounts...

his main part has been to tell them not to spend us into the
poor house...a thing that truly daunts the children seeking
ever more free christmas treats...

yesterday on my sorting through the dustbin of history, i discovered
that his squeeze wrote this:-
Osborne, Frances (2008). The Bolter. Vintage. p. 368. ISBN
978-0-307-47642-5. and that she is great grand daughter of the naughty
idina!

meanwhile we have one of the most promising economies since
attlee was trashing the country

I rather liked him once; and I've no doubt he's a clever fellow, really.
But I think the whole project fear thing was a bit of a disgrace.

I suppose there's little point in having notorious ancestors if you
can't make money out of them somehow :-)

Indeed, the pound has slumped, inflation is on the way up and the British banking diaspora has started. Most of the other [dire] predictions only come into play once we actually leave.

And of course the BoE took the most desperate measures ever (lowest ever interest rates, printing more money etc., precisely to prevent the recession that would have happened had they not done this.

Oh so when they didn't happen (as predicted) as soon as the vote was lost
the argument was that what was really meant (even though it wasn't what was
said) was that it would happen after A50 was triggered

and when that didn't happen it is now after we actually leave

how many attempts are you going to have at moving the goal posts before
admitting that you haven't scored?

Indeed, whilst we are still in the single market it gives a temporary export boom, especially primary industries.

After the party - bad hangover...

PS Pound up 2.5% this morning, which the BBC Business Live diagnosed as business having the expectation that the hard Brexiteers will have less influence if May has a large majority.

Are you suggesting that the HoC would force the PM to accept even a
really bad deal, rather than walk away.

ISTM there will be great pressure on new parliamentary candidates to
declare whether they are pro or anti-Brexit, as that could well have a
significant effect on individual outcomes.

The rate he is raking it in, I doubt it. Having it published so widely just
might make a small dent in that smirk, but probably not for too long.

I can't remember if I was being hyperbolic or facetious. But it was one

Boris is the hyperbolic one. I seem to remember him saying
that "Project Fear" (a term he coined) had forecast WW3 and
bubonic plague if we left the EU.

'... Mr Johnson said: ... “I think all this talk of World War Three and
bubonic plague is totally demented frankly.”
