Britain will be in the "front seat" to negotiate a new trade deal with
the incoming Trump administration, a top Republican in the US Senate has
said.
A US-UK trade deal would be a priority, Senate Foreign Relations
Committee chairman Bob Corker said after meeting Foreign Secretary Boris
Johnson.

That was always going to be the case.

I was surprised at Obama, and the way he was Cameron's puppet. It's
usually the other way round.

I wonder what was conceded to the US to get Obama to say that post
Brexit we would be at the end of the queue?

====

It makes you wonder! Now he is left with egg on his face, just as when he
failed to start a cold war with Russia to make things difficult for Trump.

What a piece of work:(

Easy in theory, but not in practice. Pres Trump is unlikely to meet Mrs
May over a cup of tea on a Monday and Executive Order a trade deal on a
Tuesday. It more likely will be the lengthy haggling by many vested
interests over time that will count. That is why trade deals typically
take years.
