In the year after the UK narrowly voted to exit the European Union,
there was a small but significant increase in the population's feeling
of wellbeing, official statistics show.
The improvements in areas such as life satisfaction and happiness were
seen only in England, however. Elsewhere, the rates flatlined.

There's plenty energy to heat it, and your body automatically insulates itself. It's actually bloody good at losing weight by burning off calories.

Not for a long time, and not before becoming skinny. It's a proven fact you can lose vast amounts of weight by being cold. Swim in cold water etc. Vigorous exercise and creating a lot of bodyheat both at once burn a phenomenal amount of fat.

What bullshit have you been reading? You can disprove this myth yourself (Mythbusters already have, I already have). Allegedly if you fall through some ice, you die of cold in 15 minutes. Funny how Mythbusters said 2 hours, and I've swum in 0C water for 2 or 3 hours without any problem.

means dropped right to zero.

Why must you always lie? You have never seen the film.
I saw it decades ago before it came out. I ran the Scottish pirate film server for 6 years.

In the year after the UK narrowly voted to exit the European
Union, there was a small but significant increase in the
population's feeling of wellbeing, official statistics show. The
improvements in areas such as life satisfaction and happiness
were seen only in England, however. Elsewhere, the rates
flatlined.

I was pulling your leg a little but as you seem to be serious I ask
again: on what basis did Dale suspect the official ONS report not to be
true? Just "guessing" or just "having a feeling otherwise" does not
trump laboriously compiled statistics.

Official report here:

Nor does "not being gullible" explain anything other than /your/ view!

Iain Dale knows full well that the country is probably more divided that
it has ever been. Also, Remainers and Leavers alike know we probably
have the most incompetent and divided government in a long time. Neither
of these are likely to make the UK citizens a happier and more contented
bunch.

That's fair. My view is that people are probably less happy now than
they were when the figures were last compiled - because the EU
negotiations are looking gloomy and the government (which has no vision
for Brexit) seems to be struggling at what is a critical time for our
future.

Unprovoked, he keeps his preference pretty-well to himself. However,
when roused, he makes no bones about it. Woe betide any caller who dare
suggest that Brexiteers didn't really know what they were voting for!
That's like saying someone's a homosexual when provoked. You either
are or you aren't.
Although he doesn't flaunt it, that's something else Iain makes no
secret of. He quite likes taunting callers who disapprove of
homosexuals.
